Liedolsheim Clutch

A 44 year old bike (TV 175), a 20 year old kit (TS1), and now a brand new clutch. The upgrades just won’t end.

Marco at LTH came out with a new 7-plate clutch that fits in the original casing. No spacers required, nothing else weird needs doing. It even uses the original springs. The spider, clutch outer, and pressure plate are all part of the kit. It comes with a quite nifty Vespa-style pressure plate that can easily be swapped for LI or GP style chain cases.

This is the original clutch. Out it goes, and…

7 plates stack quite a bit higher

in goes this much taller stack. 7 plates off of some big-ass motorcycle. Awesome.

And very easily it is installed into the bike.

And here you can see that the clutch simply extends into the inner side of the bell to make room for so many thick plates.

Done.

Done.

And this is what the end result looks like. Easy job. The standard spider holder doesn’t fit 100% snug, but everything is doable. The whole thing is done in roughly 2 hours. An upgrade well worth considering! I am thinking this clutch will not require maintenance in the next 40 years.
